Responding to the call of Jesus to fulfill His mission of love and service and embedded with fortitude and missionary zeal the sisters of Jyothi Province Kothamanagalm stepped in to the northern region of the motherland in 1973 which marked the beginning of JeevaJyothiProvince. The pioneers and those who came after them proved themselves to be the real spiritual daughters of the Founder Father in confronting the adverse climatic conditions, geographical distances, poor means of communication, threats to life and linguistic differences.
Accepting the invitation of His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham D. Mattam, Bishop of Satna, a band of six enthusiastic sisters mustered courage to launch out and began their life as missionaries of Sacred Heart of Jesus on the day of Pentecost on 10th June 1973 in Satna, a Syro-Malabar diocese in Madhya Pradesh and began two convents on the 12th of June in Tikamgarh and Satna.
